“21st April 2017 Anything To Drink?! As soon as I walked in through the door at Dental 397, I was made to feel welcome. The practice manager/receptionist, Lorraine Shelley, who knew beforehand...” that I was nervous, was kind and reassuring; I couldn’t have asked for a more caring response to my extreme anxiety. I was then introduced to Dr Aleksander Srokosz, who was amazing. He has a gentle and kind manner that instantly put me at ease. He explained everything thoroughly and gave me constant reassurance throughout my treatment. I had to have root canal on a wisdom tooth (it doesn’t get much worse than that), and I could not believe how painless it was. After Aleks administered the local anaesthetic, I didn’t feel any of the subsequent work that he carried out on my tooth – I was impressed. I also couldn’t help but be impressed by how conscientious, meticulous and thorough Aleks was throughout my treatment. I felt safe in the care of such a highly skilled dentist. The two dental nurses – Hannah Fay and Hannah-May Jones – were warm, caring and attentive and looked after me well during my two appointments – thank you! I also met Dr Oladapo Olotu (the principal dentist at the practice) while I was there and she was lovely to me. I have to admit though, I was rather taken aback when Dr Olotu asked me on several occasions if I wanted anything to drink – most dentists would think this beneath them. I have visited many dental practices over the years (having moved around a lot) and have never met such sincere and caring people. The number of times I have been disappointed, either because the dentist is not caring or patient with nervous individuals such as myself or the staff are unfriendly, have been numerous. So, to have finally found a dental practice in which everybody cares is truly wonderful. Thank you all at Dental 397, I feel fortunate to have found you. Dr Olotu and Dr Srokosz at Dental 397 are happy to take the time to sit down and talk to their patients and do their best to help them through their fears. I am a 30 year old mother of one with A LOT of dental problems and...” the absolute biggest fear of the dentist. (I've always said I would rather relive my son's C-Section any day than to have any dentist come near me after a terrible experience I had as a teenager). I came across this practice by accident when looking for a emergency dentist after the millionth sleepless night filled with toothache. I didn't know what to expect. A lot of dentists have turned me away because of my level of anxiety or forwarded me to have my dental work at hospital which i have never followed through due to me other biggest fear… being put to sleep. Today i had a troublesome tooth removed that has desperately been needed to be gone for YEARS! This tooth… has been the crux of all my problems in recent years. Many dentists have told me it will only be possible to remove this tooth by oral surgery under a general anesthetic. So when I was told today that they were going to remove it I went into a full blown anxiety attack. Well, can I just say ... she did the most perfect job. Oladapo is the first dentist to ever be able to get the job fully done because of her incredible ability to ease my anxiety and say all the right things to make me feel safe and confident in her hands. She has literally changed my life. I have no after pain. No swelling. And during the procedure every second I was expecting the worst only to find I had been met with the absolute best dental care I have ever experienced in my life. She is thorough yet gentle and places great care on her patience giving you all the time you need with an incredible amount of patience. She showed great knowledge in health and made me realize and learn so much why I need certain work doing to my teeth. With great care and amazing work she removed my troublesome tooth (or what was left of it) with no problem at all, the tooth many dentists told me needed to be surgically removed and that I would need to be put to sleep for, she removed!!!!!! And while she did I felt absolutely no pain, didn’t need stitches or surgical work and made me as comfortable as she possibly could. Once my anxiety eased I swear I could have fallen asleep while she did the work! This is the longest review i have ever left in my life but it is so deserved as this experience has changed my life. I cannot wait now (believe me i never thought i would see the day where i would say that) to have the rest of my teeth sorted out by her. I am actually excited. I cannot wait to be healthier, happier and PAIN FREE! All thanks to Oladapo. The most incredible dentist i have ever had the pleasure of meeting. And trust me, i am a tricky patient. Riddled with anxiety and terrible teeth. It says a lot coming from me 😉 as every dentist has only terrified me. Not Oladapo. Thank you SO MUCH. If dental angels exist… they exist here at Dental 397!”

However, Dapo and her team were fantastic throughout the process; during the extraction itself she and Hannah (the dental nurse) made me feel relaxed and at ease, and in the immediate aftermath the careful explanation of what she had done and what I should do next was reassuring. For the next few weeks (during the Christmas period) Dapo answered emails and saw me several times – including on Boxing day – to check up on me, give me advice on how to manage the pain, put in/take out stitches, and ease my worries. The gum has now completely healed and I am pain free. I cannot give enough praise to Dental 397, and thoroughly recommend them. “8th November 2016 My First Choice Of Dental Practice I have been going to Dental 397 for the last 11 years and had extensive work done. To say I am fearful of...” dentists and change would be an understatement. It took many appointments for me to get comfortable with the previous owner but would still get that knot in my stomach and shake constantly whilst sat in the chair. When I realised that the practice had changed hands I put off my appointment for as long as possible until I couldn't bear the pain any longer. It's no exaggeration to say that I sat shaking and crying during the first appointment with Dapo but she did her best to put me at ease with her warm welcoming smile and friendly personality, expertise, honesty and absolute professionalism. I no longer put off my appointments and no longer get that horrid, tight knot in my stomach. It's obviously still not my first choice of place to hang out but Dapo and her practise are definitely my first choice of dental practice. The waiting room is clean, bright, fresh and reminds me of a sitting room with comfy chairs, drinks and up to date magazines (not that there's ever time to read through them as appointments are always on time). The staff are also warm and very welcoming. Lorraine the head nurse has been there for as long as I've been going and her calm and friendly nature help to keep me calm before heading into the chair.
